FAB WHIPPED COFFEE

A lot of things go viral and whipped coffee has been one of them. Since the lockdown and quarantine started, dalgona coffee aka whipped coffee is having a moment. This was one of those fun viral things that I did not mind participating in and I of course LOVE coffee so, I headed to the internet to do a little research.

Did you know dalgona coffee originated in South Korea while they were under quarantine due to COVID-19. Videos of people making the "quarantine coffee" went viral and long story short, we now have whipped coffee.

I will say that I was very curious to know how the coffee would aureate, but the answer is that the instant coffee is the culprit. You can make whipped coffee and place it on top of cold or hot milk, and here I placed it on top of cold milk for an iced coffee effect. If you like your coffee on the sweet side like me, I suggest adding an extra tablespoon of sugar. I also recommend using an electric mixer to whip your coffee. It cut the time to make it and you get fab stiff peaks.

Bring a cup of water to a boil in a small pot. In a medium size bowl add instant coffee, hot water, sugar and using an electric mixer whisk until soft peaks form.  Spoon the whipped coffee over your desired amount of milk and drink fabulously!
