FAB AÇAI BOWLS

For months I’ve been researching the perfect açaí bowl recipe. And for months I’ve come up with nothing.

After eating numerous açaí bowls and drinking numerous açaí smoothies, all of my time scouring the internet for açai bowl ideas was in fact, pointless. 

Pointless because açaí bowls can be made and tailored to your liking. There is no “perfect açaí bowl” recipe. As long as you have some açaí and a blender, the bowls and smoothies can be fabulously endless.

I knew I wanted to add avocado and yogurt for thickness so I can stay fuller longer after eating this and in the midst of me wracking my brain about ingredients, I actually used what I had in my kitchen. I bought some açaí packs on my last trip to Trader Joe’s and picked up the other ingredients in my neighborhood.

Buying açai bowls can be costly, but in reality you don’t have to spend tons of money to make amazing açaí bowls & smoothies. Just remember to use seasonal fruit, whenever possible and substitute anything else to your liking. Whatever you add to your açai bowl, it’s going to be fabulous.

FAB Açai Bowls

Frozen Açaí Puree, slightly unthawed 

Frozen Berries 

1/2 Frozen banana 

1/2 Avocado 

Honey

Milk, optional 

Yogurt, optional 

Lemon juice 

Vanilla Extract 

Sea salt 

Granola, Blackberries, Banana's, Coconut Flakes 

Slightly unthaw açai puree for 3 minutes and when slightly unthawed, break into pieces and add to a blender. Add remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. Adjust the sweetness to your liking and spoon into a bowl. Top with your favorite toppings and eat fabulously.
